Forest EU welcomed the opportunity to submit its feedback on whether to introduce standardized packaging of tobacco products in the Netherlands.
In March 2019, the Brussels-based tobacco-control lobby ENSP organised two events in Romania where worrying statements were made by both organisers and speakers.
“The solution to reducing smoking rates among children is education and harsher penalties for those caught selling tobacco to children” said Forest EU.
“Not lifting this ban means that European adults’ will continue to be prevented from making important choices about their lives” said Forest EU.

With a self-declared lobbying budget of €5 to €6 million, 94 lobbyists from 24 different organisations operating in Brussels are pushing for more pervasive anti-tobacco policies – 13 of them received €6 million in subsidies from the European Commission in 2016.
